Intention Focus Therapy Coaching/Practitioner Training 1 & 2

Recommendation:  All students who are interested in becoming Practictioner/Coaches of FIt, we are recommending that the students complete the Distant Life Coaching Diploma.   The Life Coaching course is offered to you through the Institute of Life Coaching, which is a recognized school with ICF(International Coaching Foundation). Module 1 Communication & Ethics:

Communication & Ethics covers a wide range of communication approaches and topics.  From an introduction to the basic listening and questioning skills, to learning to deal with difficult people, this course is an important step in creating positive and effective interactions in both your personal and professional life.  This basic course will introduce you to concepts such as professional ethics, assisting clients with goal development, and experiential facilitation techniques which are covered in more detail in advanced Your instructor, Katherine Bird, is available through email to assist your progress by providing answers to questions, evaluation and feedback throughout the duration of your course.  Katherine has a background in Psychology, Social Work, and Adult Education, with over 30 years’ experience with mental health, complementary therapies, and group training programs.  Katherine incorporates several alternative approaches to her work with clients and groups.  She is happy to draw on her experiences related to communication skills in this program.

Course Description
An introduction to communication theory and skill development, the emphasis is on helping you to increase competence as a communicator in your IFT practice.  You will gain practical skills and knowledge to enable effective communication throughout your professional and personal contacts.  As a self-study course, videotaped interactions are required to demonstrate skills.
This course will examine and discuss the values, concepts and ethics involved with healing arts practice.  The holistic model will be a basis of understanding needs and strategies of approach with self-wellness and client assistance.

Module 2 - Case Practice

Course Overview
FIt Coach 2: Case Practice is a guided practicum that encourages you to hone your FIT skills for working as a coach with others.  Using suggested case management and communication skills, you will provide documented FIt support to 65 people, utilizing some of the cases for feedback and other evaluation processes.


Course Description


As an active skill development and demonstration course, the emphasis is on helping you to increase competence as an FIt Coach in private practice.  You will gain practical skills and knowledge to enable effective FIT processing with your clients.  As a self-study course, written documentation and videotaped interactions are required to demonstrate skills.
