Introduction to Intention Focused Therapy

After over 20 years of development, I am excited to cocreate a Heart Centered Consciousness Therapy  called Intention Focused Therapy™ (IFT™).  I will now be offered this course through the Canadian College of Healing Arts.  I named it Intentional Focused Therapy™ because the modality is about putting forth an intention of what we want to change or heal; following it to its core cause and there focusing to make the changes.

What Is IFT™?

The development of IFT™ is founded upon my 46 years of life experience and healing work. It is an amalgam of everything that I have learned from my own journey and simply put it is about pinpointing core issues that underlie all our fears, doubts and worries – whatever isn’t working in our lives i.e. lack of abundance. You may agree: We are here to live from a consciousness of our inner magnificence and to experience our birthright of unlimited abundance. The development of this therapy is the answer to my life long prayer and I am pleased to offer it to you.

My intent in sharing IFT™ with you is to:

1. Spark your imagination;
2. Access your own inner knowingness;
3. Activate your own connection to Source Energy and;
4. Create your own path in total confidence.

Source Energy, God, Life Force, Creator, Universal Energy, Divine Presence, (or whatever label you apply) is in everything and It is everywhere. The power of conscious intention is what instantly makes Source Energy available to us and that power is within us to access at will. The minute we use intention to acknowledge our connection to Source Energy we have the opportunity to create or change anything that we desire. When we connect intently with Creator Consciousness we are going within ourselves to access the subconscious mind where our core issues are stored in the form of limiting belief systems and unfinished events. 

Techniques that have influenced me and contributed in some way to the development of Intentional Focused Therapy™ include: Neuro Linguistic Programming; Thought Field Therapy; Quantum Touch; Peruvian Shamanism and ThetaHealing. All of these techniques guide me on my own path toward:

1. The healing of my own core issues;
2. The developing of this system that is ever evolving and;
3. The reaching of higher levels of consciousness. 

The information that I am offering you has nothing to do with religion, race, or where you live in the world. It has to do with freedom – freedom from fear and judgment and the tyranny of others. It has to do with living your life in unconditional love for All That Is and it has to do with standing in your own power to change the world around you from within.

Since I can remember I have always had a very strong connection to the Creator and I’ve always understood that we can experience instantaneous healings in our lives provided we ask for them and then allow the healing to just simply happen. Intentional Focused Therapy™ draws on my accumulated 20 years of healing experience; my inner gifts and several other sources. It combines the natural wisdom of the body with the strengths of many different modalities into one technique that really gets results. 

For a long time I have searched for modalities that would heal the root of a problem and were so simple to learn that everyone could benefit from the therapy. IFT™ accomplishes this brilliantly! Whether the area of your life where you are not being all you can be is spiritual, mental, emotional or physical Intentional Focused Therapy™ allows you to create the life you desire.

What Makes IFT™ Work?

The first question I ask participants in my workshops and private sessions is, “What do you want or desire in your life?” Often what happens is that we spend more time focusing on what isn’t working instead of being clear about what we really want. Obviously, this type of thinking will not attract the results we want – it can only ever bring us exactly what we are asking for: more of what doesn’t work.
 
For example, if at some point in our lives we were abandoned by someone we trusted and we made the decision to believe that we were unwanted we might hopelessly spend our whole lives trying to show our parents, the world and our selves that we are of value. However, with Intentional Focused Therapy™ we use a very simple and gentle process to get to the root experience that caused our feeling of unworthiness. The energy that was misdirected toward vainly proving our merit is instantaneously transmuted on all energetic dimensions to an inner knowing that we are already absolutely cherished just by being here and now.

Creator Consciousness is not somewhere above us or ‘out there’. It is found within and by using IFT™ to connect with this inner knowing we can access our subconscious mind where all limiting belief systems and unfinished events are stored. When we embrace the intent to awaken to our full potential and when we live life in the now moment, we are then choosing to bring into existence a life filled with love, laughter, success, and fulfillment.

When we know all Power comes from within and we focus on that understanding then we are connected, and by using Intentional Focused Therapy™ we access the innate wisdom of the body to unravel limiting beliefs, attitudes, perceptions and opinions. That which animates the body naturally knows the cause of everything that pinches us off from sourcing Universal Energy. By drawing our focus inward we, with our connection to Source Energy easily access the decision we made at the time of the trauma that was out of alignment with our true desires. By dropping all resistance and focusing on a given core issue then intently asking the Creator within to guide us we create movement between the conscious and subconscious minds.

Movement between the conscious and subconscious minds is an art. Every time we intend our connection with Creator Consciousness and willingly ask that which is within us to change a limiting aspect we are practicing this art. This is the single most key component to changing a behavior from one that causes us suffering to one that is in line with our full potential. We focus Universal Energy the same way as we would direct waves of water into a channel.  Our subconscious mind gets reorganized when we channel energy into our conscious awareness with the intention of connecting to Source Energy within.

In my opinion, nothing is more powerful or magical than using intention and focus to instantly connect with Source for limitless wisdom and unconditional love. Remember, we can make the journey of our lives easy or we can make it hard – our belief system determines the direction. If we believe and say the journey will be hard then that is what we will experience. If we make a commitment to make this journey EASY and FUN then guess what? It’s easy and fun! Change is really that simple.

IFT™ and Emotions as Indicators

Unfortunately, most of us hang on to or constantly recall our unpleasant or negative situations – some of which go all the way back to childhood or can even stem from other life experiences. When we hold on to negative experiences we block our ability to move forward or to evolve. By using Intentional Focused Therapy™ we transform feelings and emotions that indicate unhappiness by holding thought forms that make us feel good. The questions then become:

1. Do we have an inner clarity that our prime directive is to feel peace and if so;
2. What is causing us to hold thought forms that make us feel otherwise?

With IFT™ an inner clarity about what we want in our lives and how we want to feel is critical to experiencing any results. It really is black and white – do you have a preference for peace or pain? Once we are clear about this and presumably have chosen peace then we can take the next steps toward transmuting discordant feelings in to an inner knowing of and experiences of peace.

The universe we live in is attraction based. This simply means that the thoughts we think cause what we see in our lives. Whether we are feeling the emotions of negativity such as anger or positive emotions like bliss we are always attracting our experiences. More importantly the degree to which we feel the thought forms brings about the attraction of the experience at a quicker rate. What experiences are you attracting in your life?

Shakespeare said, “All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players...” Everyone in our lives is a mirror. How others respond to us is a direct reflection of what we are putting out and the quality of our interactions with those around us is a result of what we emanate. These moments with our mirrors can be used as a guide for what we need to change.

We can let go of all those past relationships, bad memories, and negative thought forms and call them The Story of What Was. The good news is that if we hang on to The Story, life will become more and more difficult and thus ‘push’ us to become clear about who we really want to be. In essence, by holding on to who we think we are; who we think we are supposed to be or holding an attachment to something we think we need we don't allow ourselves to move forward, grow and achieve wonderful things.

Whether we are aware of it or not there is always an intent operating behind the scenes. Most people are not aware of the intent that is currently guiding their choices, actions, and behaviors. What is driving your life - “Conscious” or “Unconscious” intent? Emotions are powerful and valuable indicators. They show us if we are aligning with our true nature and they show us if we are not. Again, it is very black and white – when we experience ‘happy’ emotions we are in alignment and when life is easy for us then we are also in alignment.
 
We all go through positive and negative experiences during our lives. When we experience the positive we are in alignment with our innate desires and by experiencing the negative we are showing ourselves that we are out of alignment. It is a simple and perfect system. The universe and all our experiences exist for us to develop our inner clarity.

Through the power of intentional focus there is an invisible Life Force Energy available to all of us.  Dr. Wayne Dyer talks about this invisible life force in his book, The Power of Intention.  He tells us to try imagining a force that’s everywhere. 

Dr. Dyer states, “There’s no place that you can go where it isn’t. It can’t be divided and it is present in everything you see or touch.” “This infinite intelligent force is every where,” he continues, “At the moment of conception, intention sets in motion how your physical form will appear and how your growing and aging process will unfold. It also sets in motion your non-physical aspects, including your emotions, thoughts, and disposition...” “This field of intention is here now and available to us all.  When you ACTIVATE it, you’ll begin to feel purpose in your life, and you’ll be guided by your infinite self.”

Through Intentional Focused Therapy™ all of what doesn’t work in our lives as per our negative emotions becomes transmuted to a state that always exists underneath the layers of discord called Inner Peace. It is the feeling that is when we experience life from our Soul’s heart centered consciousness.

IFT™ the Ego Mentality and Soul Consciousness

Do you beat your heart, make your liver work or grow your nails? Everything that we see in this world began from consciousness that became a thought which in turn became light, then energy which condensed in to what we call matter. We are speaking of an energy that not only animates all our body’s functions but underlies everything in our universe. We can call this energy that connects us all: Creator, Source Energy, God, All That Is, etc. If we are wise we look to this – whatever we decide to call it – as a guide and honour it as sacred.

Have you ever heard the adage: We are spiritual beings having a human experience? Well, on an energetic level that which we are in individuated form can be termed our Spirit/Soul. Our body is not the vehicle for which the soul resides, it is a crystallization of the Soul that forms when we decide to incarnate within the density of the third dimension. What happens is a part of our larger self decreases in vibration to become what we know as our physical body which is merely a tool that exists so that we can communicate with one another on this 3D level. When we forget that we are spiritual beings then our alternative is to believe that we are our body; that this third dimension is the ‘real’ world and that survival of the fittest rules. From there suffering abounds which is to say that there will always be someone who loses and whether we feel it or not we are all affected by that which happens to the least of us.

Again, everything is energy and at its core has a consciousness. The kingdoms of plant, animal and mineral are all individuated forms of consciousness; every human being is also an individuated form of consciousness and the same applies to every cell in our body. Our body is a re-presentation of the Soul condensed within the polarity consciousness of this third dimension. It is seemingly separate and in our forgetfulness we have come to call this embodied part of our Soul the ego. We agree to incarnate in forgetfulness of our Soul’s path and over many lives we slowly begin to re-member who we truly are and what we are here to do. One way of accessing this infinite self or Soul is through what can be termed as heart centered consciousness. The process of awakening this consciousness may be new to you and many do not even know that such a thing exists let alone that it is possible. Our individual heart centered consciousness is our connection to our “authentic self’ – our Soul. We are all operating and living each moment on the Soul level, but few of us allow ourselves to acknowledge this. We are oblivious to the understanding that our Soul is who we truly are. In order to live our lives from the Soul level, we must first recognize that the Soul is not separate from us – it is us.

The process of awakening our heart centered consciousness begins when we decide first of all that there is no more important ‘thing’ to be doing. Our clarity of purpose is focused upon developing a clearer connection with our Soul’s voice instead of listening to the needs and desires of our ego. Once the small, quiet voice of our Soul is preferred over the ego’s demands, we will have awakened our heart centered consciousness to the Soul level and Intention Focused Therapy™ en-courages you to discern your preference this life.

The ego is not bad. It exists to serve a valuable purpose – to have us come to clarity about what we really want in our lives. The ego is the part of us that will always think itself as separated from everyone and all else. It is so simple – it truly is black and white – Soul or ego – Peace or pain – what’s your preference? To find out if we are listening to the voice of the ego, all we need do is ask ourselves if a thought, statement or action is based in fear. We always have the choice to feel the pain of listening to the options of our ego or we can experience the peace that comes from following the heart centered consciousness of our Soul. By allowing ego to determine our life path we deactivate our power of intention. Ideally the ego is the servant of the Soul. When we live life with the ego as master we get a world like the one we see on the news. When we listen to our Soul and live our lives from heart centered consciousness then what we see in our lives becomes better than we could ever imagine. Imagine you at your best. What does that look like?

Without knowing what we don’t want in our lives we could never come to a knowing of what we do want. The ego perfectly serves this purpose individually and en masse. We agreed to come to this place called Earth to remember who we are and to evolve toward unconditional love. This is our only job! In order to do this, we need to come to an inner clarity that awakening to our heart centered consciousness is our preference and that living in fear with the ego running the show really isn’t. IFT™ will teach you how to live by the paradigm of simplicity i.e. if in any given moment we feel good, then we are listening to our Soul and if we are not feeling good then we are listening to our ego. We are in the process of learning how not to be and remembering from there our preference for feeling good.

Many people “think” or “believe” they know the right way of doing things or how everything is supposed to be. Generally, it is only when we have a ‘break down’ or something ‘bad’ happens to us that we begin to question our understanding. This is the way for most of us and it is all happening just the way it is supposed to be – in perfection. Every single event in our world and in our lives is happening in divine order whether we like it or not. From the pedophile to the tyrant we can resist this understanding or to it we can surrender. To resist is to suffer because in the final analysis: We Are All One. Until we accept the following:
1. We are One with It All and;
2. EVERYTHING is in perfection,
Then we are judging and because we are One we are only ever judging ourselves.

When we are guided by our egos we believe we are separate; we open ourselves to dis-ease and our whole body feels the effects of the discordant energy. When we live our lives from a heart centered consciousness we are in accord with our Soul’s purpose and the individual cells of the body work together to bring balance and restore good health. The same principle applies to us as a whole and together, every person on earth makes up the collective consciousness. Our combined consciousness also has its own health. If enough of us collectively feel fear, hate, anger, and/or resentment, then we will see what we see on the news like tyranny, sickness and disease spreading throughout our world. If together we lived our lives in unconditional love and present moment awareness, our collective human experience would be only that which unconditional love creates and we would reflect this consciousness in the form of service and the uplifting of others.

Once we give in to the absolute truth that everything happens for a reason we begin to:
1. Allow;
2. Take responsibility for our thoughts, actions and creations and;
3. Awaken.
In order to assist the whole of humanity, we have to help ourselves and align with the work of our Soul which is to awaken to our heart centered consciousness. When we embrace that in us called ego, and listen to the lesson of how not to be we then accept and bless the All of us and we thus embrace our Soul’s path. By awakening to our heart centered consciousness we are living our lives on the Soul level which always ends up leaving us enspirited and filled with love. This will change our reality from a life of doubt and worry to a life filled with inspiration and knowingness.

There are a lot of people living now and chronicled in the history of our world that have awakened their consciousness to the Soul level and beyond. When you choose to awaken to your greater self then Intention Focused Therapy™ will be there. So when’s a good time for you?
